I am glad it turns out well

At a post almost dated a year back, I did mention I do love to dance. In the beginning of this year, Eric also pluck up his courage & started to learn dancing as well.



About 4 months ago we started basic Waltz classes. Months passes we also advances to Intermediat. The school Shawn & Gladys is holding exams for dances this coming weekend.



Both of us decided not to take as I generally does not like being stressed out by an exam. However last Tuesday, being our last class of this semester, our good friend Zinc actually helped us to video our routine. I am really glad all turns well.

Pepsi Commercial - Soccer Stars

The other day when I am at the cinema, this particular commercial caught my attention.


Not that I am a super duper soccer fan (although my husband is a die hard Chelsea fan), but I am just amaze with the plot of the commercial where they had fans telling their view of the story. Having all the famous Soccer players acting it out was just superb. By the way this is also for the Euro 2008.

Following viewing this, I vaguely recall over the past years Pepsi had been producing multiple Soccer players whom they have sponsored.

黎沸挥 - 在世界放光芒20年作品知己演唱会

Last Saturday we went to watch his concert @ the Esplanade. Before we enter the concert hall, as usual I will go to the bathroom as we had dinner before heading towards there. When about to enter to the hall, the user very concern-ly told us "This concert NO interval, go to the bathroom 1st hor"?!?!?!?

We went ?!?!?! why is he so concern. We thought, how long can the concert be, at a minimum of 2hrs & max + encore will be the most 3hrs.

To our GREATEST surprise.. the concert kept on going & going & going.... After unsure number singers had sang & finally 黎沸挥 bid goodbye.. Its almost 11:45PM. By the way, concert started @ 7:30PM.

黎沸挥等20年开唱 巫启贤、梁智强放笑弹喧宾夺主

黎沸挥自爆他邀请嘉宾时，每个嘉宾都说是被他一句“一个歌手有多少个20年啊”所打动。前晚在演唱会现场，当每个嘉宾上台开口一提“20年”，观众便有默契的笑出来，后来黎沸挥越来越不好意思，开始否认：“我有这么说过吗？”

20年，如果能换来如此多好歌，红了自己，也红了别人，黎沸挥，没什么不好意思的！

前晚是本地资深音乐人黎沸挥的“在世界放光芒20年作品知己演唱会”，结果表演嘉宾巫启贤演唱的歌曲总数跟他“差不多”，还有“意外嘉宾”梁智强简短亮相大放笑弹，梁文福也赏脸上台伴奏，把气氛推上高潮。这真是“喧宾夺主”的一场演唱会！

知己巫启贤，互激互捧互踩互赞

黎沸挥除了开场独唱4首后，便把时间交给曾经演唱他的作品的嘉宾和他的学生。压轴的巫启贤大唱7首歌，黎沸挥“气”得说：“自己唱得很少，‘知己’唱得很多！”

巫启贤演唱黎沸挥创作的《太阳眼镜》、《再一次恋爱》、《啤酒周围的故事》，都是20年前流行一时的劲歌。巫启贤更笑说《等你等到我心痛》让黎沸挥在新马唱红，他在台湾唱红，张学友在香港唱红，歌迷则买唱片买到心痛，更赞说一首歌把3个歌手捧红不容易，也让黎沸挥赚到两栋房子。

两人接着合唱《等》，舞台上也映出10多年前两人合唱同一首歌的幻灯片，两相对照，从发型、穿着到样貌的改变，使观众对岁月有深长体会。

因为有20年的交情，看黎沸挥与巫启贤在台上互激互捧互踩互赞互弹，往事幽默重提，几乎到了“不设防”境界，可比拟台湾演艺界大哥半演半真的类似交流，让人笑出眼泪。巫启贤几乎比在自己的演唱会或主人家黎沸挥还“high”，金口妙句炒足气氛。结果这场演唱会超时近一小时，长达四小时。

梁智强的出现让人意外，原来他当年出过饶舌专辑，里面有首《选美赛》及综艺节目《搞笑行动》主题曲是黎沸挥所作，然后他以黎的旧曲改以新词，顺口讽刺逃马、通货膨胀、爱国歌曲语言歧视等时弊，并把《等你等到我心痛》变成《找你找到我心痛》送给部长，也让全场报以热烈掌声。

形象斯文的梁文福给足老友面子，上台伴奏，他替黎沸挥的曲填词，早年由巫启贤演唱的《一个像我这样那个的男子》，促成记者记忆中3人首度同台表演，也是经典画面。

最红的歌曲原唱者未出席

黎沸挥早年以歌手身份出发，中途退居幕后为主，他所作的歌曲当中，别人唱红至少占一半，所以这次的20年纪念演唱会，自己退居幕后，演唱歌曲只占全场四分之一。

这样的安排可表现出他的创作人身份，可惜许多唱红他的作品的原唱者如张学友、刘德华、张信哲、伍思凯、陈晓东等都没到，而赏脸演出的好友如关德辉、巫启雄、洪劭轩、潘盈等所唱的黎沸挥创作，却不是最流行的那些歌曲，因此中间一大段时间近乎冷场。

刚生产6个月的台湾歌手彭佳慧可说是最有心的“本地音乐人之友”，她继前年为李伟菘、偲菘纪念演唱会之后，再当嘉宾，她演唱两首黎沸挥的歌好听但也非观众所熟悉，等她展开肺活量唱出代表作《敲敲我的头》和《旧梦》，才把气氛推高，可惜这两首并不是黎沸挥的创作。

毒舌评审·严厉制作人

近年在电视实况歌唱比赛中以“毒舌”闻名的黎沸挥，演唱会中不时重提当年幕后趣事，把观众带回记忆，许多笑料备觉温馨。

黎沸挥当年出道坎坷，幸有早一点的出道的巫启贤“救济”，把穿过不留的打歌服送给他平日穿着。有一次，黎沸挥到台湾宣传，配合后台播放卡带对嘴演唱，谁知半途音响系统吃带，黎沸挥模仿工作人员误按“快速向前”钮后系统发出的“怪声”，自嘲比林俊杰更早懂得表演“口技”。

黎沸挥当制作人时在录音室的严厉，经多名歌手“认证”更显真实。他不但曾骂哭关德辉，有一次拿木棍进录音室要堵门，却让关德辉误会他要打人，惊吓得后退几步。

黎沸挥也澄清《等你等到我心痛》并非如巫启贤所说，是在打麻将时等“万条筒子”时有感而作，乃是源自于钓鱼时的心情。

100 days to Olympic 2008 in Beijing countdowns started yesterday. To start off the celebration, many Chinese singers & artist got together & sang this song 北京欢迎你. It translate to - Beijing Welcomes You.

The Olympic Torch Relay around the world had create much turbulence between pro China & Tibet supporters. For the time being, let's put any anger or grievance aside to enjoy a collaborative effort being put together by the entertainers.

I like the phrase the most 有勇气就会有奇迹 - When there is courage, miracles will appears.

Sequel to the Best Man stories

After I have posted my last post on Is it so Bored to be a Best Man?!?!?!?! immediately I got the Best Man Yahooing me... demanding I should remove the post immediately.

However after many days of laughter & trying to find out more juicy stories regarding the Best Man & the Brides maid... I think I better stop the search.

Best Man - Happy?

Is it so bored to be a Best Man?!?!?!?!

Late last month, in the hot & sunny Penang Island, other then the almost dieing down election fever rumbling in the city, there was another joyous event being celebrated.

It the wedding of our colleagues Ai Wah & Alex. There were already many blogs in the WW space blogging in celebration of their wedding, however I will like to share another aspect of this occasion as well.

Understanding the from the Best Man, he was chosen to be the best of 3 man like < 48 hours before the actual day. The reason given was, the rest of the 2 cannot be the Best man because 1 is married & the other one is taller then the groom.

No implying the groom is short eh....

I really can't stop myself laughing looking at these pictures. Do you really think is sooooooo boring to be a BEST MAN?!?!?!?!?

Every year I will not miss watching the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. Not that I the beautiful models walking on the stage, its really the glamorous style of how the entire program is being put together.

Of course and not least I love the beauty of Victoria's Secret lingeries. They are so so so pretty and I will definitely visit the boutique whenever I am in the States.

2007 the guest singer is SEAL singing with his wife Heidi Klum but I will never forget Justin Timberlake - Sexy Back. Guys out there, stop drooling...

Street Magic. Illusions?

Gone with the days where David Copperfield performs great & grand magical shows like walking through the Great Wall of China, making the Statue of Liberty disappears or floating himself over Grand Canyon.

These days the in thing is Street Magic. What is Street Magic? These illusionist will perform magic on the streets with life audience or passers by seeing the entire trick happening. What is so captivating about Street Magic is, you are unable to see any loopholes. Common street magic shown on TV are card tricks, coin tricks or even fire tricks.

These years Street Magic has become so popular where in the recent Golden Horse Award or 金马奖 they invited this ABJ (American Born Japanese) Cyril Takayama to perform. No doubt its the usual card tricks, all the audience were amazed.

NEW YORK - THE final four 'Survivor: China' contestants kept their alliance intact all season long, but only self-proclaimed schemer Todd Herzog was able to win the television reality show's $1 million (S$1.45 million) prize.

Herzog, a 22-year-old flight attendant from Pleasant Grove, Utah, bested closest allies Courtney Yates, a 26-year-old waitress from New York, and Amanda Kimmel, a 23-year-old hiking guide from Los Angeles.'I wasn't the strongest. I wasn't the smartest,' Herzog said during the finale aired on Sunday. 'But I was definitely the most strategic.'

Todd won the 15th edition of Survivor with four votes against Yates' two and Kimmel's one. None of the opposing Zhan Hu tribe members was able to penetrate their alliance with fourth-place finisher Denise Martin, a 40-year-old lunch lady from Douglas, Massachusetts.

The Golden Compass

Guess this Dec the movie to watch for is The Golden Compass.

In fact before the movie starts, there have been many talks regarding this movie. Other then the big cast like Nicole Kidman & Daniel Craig, there were also huge moolahs that went into making the special effects on the movie.

For sure we know the armoured bear Iorek Byrnison is not real & the creation scenes on the snow are the blue screens, but no matter what it is the entire movie still captivates the majority.



However if you think after watching the movie you will walk away with a satisfaction of conclusion, sorry to mention now is no... This is just like "Lord of the Rings", its a Trilogy!

Not sure will it be every year a feed of the dose, its something nice worth the wait.

Christmas in Singapore

Last Saturday I brought my mom & nephew down to Orchard Road to view the lights display for Christmas.

First glance we can easily tell this year the theme is blue or purple, the streets are decorated with small little light bulbs which from far looks like diamonds hanging on trees. *Just illusions* though.

Do you watch TV Programs?!?!?

Ever since our place got signed up for Starhub Cable, other then the usual Sports Channel where my husband will glued to the screen whenever there is a Soccer match especially Chelsea, my next favorite channel is AXN.

I like AXN mainly for the dramas & its reality shows. The all time favorites are the series of CSI (Las Vegas); CSI (New York); CSI (Miami); Lost; Nip Tuck; Ghost Whisperer. Reality are Amazing Race, Fear Factor & those from MediaCorp Channel 5 of Survivor & American Next Top Model.

Of all these listed, my favorite still be the crime solving gang of Crime Scene Investigation (CSI). After watching so many seasons of CSI, there is a difference in production between the 3 although they are all produce by Jerry Bruckheimer.

CSI - Las Vegas.
Longest running CSI series from the bunch. Season 6 just completed its airing @ Channel 5. Season 7 completed its series @ AXN. Season 8 just started in the US last week.
This series has a lot more drama compare to the NY & Miami. You can see more crime solving detective & lab work. Characters played in this series are more down to earth & with crime solving attitude.

For those whom still ponder will Sara dies in the hands of miniature killer... A sneak peak & hope the series will air here soon.



CSI - New York
This series of CSI has its base in the heart of New York City. No doubt there were always saying about how snobbish New Yorkers are, but this pool of Scientist & Detectives have chemistry.

Season 3 ended @ AXN 2 weeks ago. Season 4 started fortnight ago in US. Same as CSI - Las Vegas, in season 3 there is romance between Danny Messer & Lindsay Monroe is well celebrated by the fans. They even created a website just dedicating their fond.

Not enough of CSI New York, here are some of best moments.


CSI - Miami
To tell you the truth, I find that this is the most glorified CSI out of the 3. In this series, you will see all Detectives & Lab Techs are all good looking, wears flashy clothes & even the pathologist puts on most up to style sun glasses.

On top of this, all the characters are very decent in looks & they can drives a Hummer on their job! Miami is more violent compare to the rest of the series where every episode will have a full scene of gun fighting shoot outs!

The most interest factor of this series is Horatio Caine. He loves to meddle with his sun glasses by putting it on most of the time, taking it off when he wish to make a one liner sentence & I wonder does he suffer a neck problem.

TV Ads

As you may know there are 3 Mobile Phones Network service providers in Singapore. They are M1, Singtel & StarHub. Competitions in gaining market share are fierce & lately they have such great TV commercials that can't stop me blogging about it.

I am with M1 since they enter the Singapore market in 1997. No doubt they may not be the one whom provide the cheapest rates in town, but their Customer Service Officers is really one of the BEST I've ever encounter. Always serve with a smile any time, any day.

One of my Passions....

Have I ever mention that I have a passion for dancing? *Giggles*

What Dance? Disco? Contemporary? Folk Dancing? No. No. No. No.

It all started about > 3 years ago where I learn Line Dancing. During then I realize that my coordination between my hands & legs are ok. I don't have a 2 left feet. hehehe...

So what exactly is Line Dancing? Well its a well choreograph dance routine steps. Each songs actually had it dedicate dance routine. Don't ask me do I remember any of the songs dance steps.. Unfortunately no cause I have rather short memory.

After Line Dancing, I actually stop for quite a while on Dancing till one of my good Pal Zinc introduce me to Ballroom. *Eye Brow Raise*

I have been learning in Shawn & Gladys Dance School for almost > a year now. Started with Social dancing where it comprises of 3 basic social dances of ChaCha, Rock n Roll & Salsa. Completed both Basic & Intermediate classes. Well probably I like ChaCha the most, only can remember the basic ChaCha steps.

Following the social class, I actually completed all the Basic Latin Ballroom class of Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba & Jive. Well as the schedule of the Intermediate class does not really fit my well so I had only manage to complete the Samba Intermediate.

Can't wait for the next new classes schedule to be out!
