It's only Friday Morning

Most of the people around me knows that I drive to work everyday. Occasionally I will become a generic commuter just like anyone taking public transport like Buses, MRT or Taxi. Well today Friday the 17th, I am a generic commuter because Eric needs the car in the afternoon to run errands + send Uncle to hospital for his daily radio therapy session.

As usual I woke up the same time & felt its darker then usual mornings. Then while I go through the motion of preparing to go to work... IT POURS!!!!

Great!!! It has not been raining during the morning for many days & of all days it rains TODAY!

Well I stood there by the road looking pathetic & desperately to flag down a cab but to no avail :(. Worst of all I am suppose to pick Keryn & I really felt bad of me being so jinx.

Both of us tried to call for a taxi & when it rains either the taxis will all go on hiding or there are really there are too many people calling for it.

Lines were engage & we decided to go back home. Pointless staying in the cold wet raining. Login back @ home & will head to office later. Place on my Yahoo status "WFH till I can get a cab to work"

The best of everything was when Keryn asked me to call for a cab, I asked back.. "What's number huh?!?!?!" I have not been calling those numbers since 2004!

Well now I know:-

Comfort Taxis : 6 552 1111

SMRT Taxis : 6 555 8888

City Cab : 6 552 2222

Silver Cab : 6 363 6888

Smart Cab : 6 485 7777

Transcab : 6 555 3333

Maxi Cab / Limo : 6 452 0220

The Grand Dame Of Kallang

One hot sunny Saturday morning, I dragged myself up very early in the morning like 7am. If its a normal working day, getting up at 7am has no complains as I need to get up to start a days' job. But its Saturday where most of us are suppose to wake up late & laze around.

Anyway, what made me willing to sacrifice my precious sleep... I've book a tour with the Singapore Sports Council to pay a last visit to our National Stadium at Kallang. Its a 2 hours guided tour where it bring you walk up & down, in & out of the Stadium; the intent - to pay a last visit before its to be demolish at the end of the year to make way for the new Sports Hub.

The tour started by visiting the grand stand. I vaguely remember I only sat on the grand stand once. It was an event held by the Arm Forces. As said its the grand stand, the view sitting there is superb. You will get the best view of any event held below & also the full front of any fireworks display.

In front of the Grand Stand there are 4 plagues mounted on the wall honoring the Stadium.

At the grand stand we also had the pleasure to meet Kunalan. He is our 1st National Sprinter. He gave us his story on his love for the Stadium which had accompanied him throughout the years.

Since its a tour, we also got to visit those places where only VIP or Ministers & even the President goes. The VIP Room & Eric took a walk down the long steps.

As we began to move away from the grand stand, I must make sure to capture a last shot of that Big Screen.

Next we all headed down to the Sports Museum & visit the various medals that our local sportsman had made our country proud.

This is the 1st Olympic medal won by Mr. Tan Howe Liang whom participated in 1960 Rome Olympic Games representing Weight Lifing.

After keeping cool in the Meseum, we are brought out to get some sunshine.

Walked up the stairs where the huge torch lies & I got to touch it the 1st time!

What a Silverware

By now you will have watched last Sunday's race in Hungary Budapest. The Magyar Nagydíj 2007 Race. Well there were some blunders like Ferrari Massa's Pit error... *giggle* how can the pit crew forgotten to add Fuel during qualifying & the strip of Pole position for Alonso.. The rest of the race were pretty following the motion.

Obviously there were lots of news about the growing strain between Alonso & Hamilton. Too bad, they still have to stay together till the season ends. HAHAHA!

One thing that got me laughing at the end of the race was the 3 race leaders standing at the Podium. Did you saw the trophy?!?!? My 1st comment to my husband. "HAHAHA... that looks like my grandma urn. :D

Qualifying in Budapest - Hungary

Did not catch the qualifying session this evening as I was out having dinner @ Toa Payoh. First thing when I came home, rush straight to the computer & boot it up! To do what? Check the qualifying results...

Here are the drivers listing. McLaren clinch pole 1 & 2 by Alonso & Hamilton.

After reading some news from other F1 news website, it seems like Alonso deliberately not moving off the pit even though the lollipop was up. A tactic, a strategy.. Unsure. But I could tell Hamilton is real psst off by this act.

Well there will lots of excitment to watch on tomorrow's race & I will make sure not missing it. Till then here is a Hungary Preview on the track.

Interview with the Hunter

Well I took sometime the other day to update my resume since I was rather free & kinda nothing to do. Since I got it updated, might as well post it online. Trust me, throughout my entire working career I had not been updating my resume & ever thought of posting it online too.

Hence after the detail update, posted it to 3 website. Monster; JobStreet & JobsDB

I think there is no harm checking on the box for having my resume being open for view for potential employers really does makes a different. Since then till today, I do get frequent calls from Human Resource Agencies searching for potential candidates. They are also call Head Hunters :D

Today I went for this interview with Manpower Staffing. Reading their website, they are quite a huge agency located at International Plaza.

After so many years of working, this is really the 3rd Job Interview that I had went! Nervous? That is obvious! However I manage to keep my cool & answer my questions well. So will you be seeing me changing a new job soon... Not really. The potential employer is looking for some one whom had a great deal of IT knowledge. LOL!!! I have none!!!

About this Potential Employer? They mention its a MNC in Tuas dealing with Oracle. My guess is Sony where I heard they are upgrading. Your guess?!?!?! :D

Anyway I am still comfortable with my current job & bosses. They are nice people other then those peripherals :))
